Day 4: Esperance to Caiguna

With some small tips from the owners at our Esperance Apartments we headed off to what would have to be the highlight of the trip so far - Cape Le Grand National Park (Just east of Esperance).
Known for its white sandy beaches - apparently the whitest beach in the world and amazing scenery, we were not disappointed.  Jade and Brooke, despite the frigid waters of the southern ocean insisted on swimming.  We also took Bess on the beach for our first beach drive.

Lucky Bay - Cape La Grand National Park
After leaving Cape Le  Grand National Park it was north to Norseman 200km before turning right and heading east on the Nullabor.  Stopped in Norseman for lunch which again was sandwiches in the park, I think I could say Norseman was even less appealing than Queenstown Tasmania (for those who have been there you will understand), for those that haven't it was Sunday at 12:00pm, not a soul in the centre of town, all shops closed and boarded - the only people around were the travellers stopping for fuel.
Got to be cold!

Adam's Driving a Nissan - Cape Le Grand Beach

We then started the journey across the Nullabor, which the girls were initially excited by - but after the first 200km of 500km to our next stop - they had, had enough.  The girls had absolutely no grasp of distance and after 7 hours in the car were ready for a plane home.  Little did they know we had a 8 hour day planned for the next day:)

  1. OMG!!!! I hadn't realized how big Australia was until we drove across the Nullarbor! There was absolutely nothing to see except for a few trees and shrubs on flat plains and a flat straight road which stretched to the horizon. A few movies and about 100 rounds of Candy Crush was almost the only source of entertainment for Brooke and I, but we soldiered through!
