First stop Streaky Bay - quaint little town on the coast about an hour south of Ceduna. Really pretty place. Made the most of it by enjoying Scones with Jam & Cream at the local café - definitely worth it.
Just out of Streaky Bay is a conservation area which took us to Point Labatt - where we watched the local Sea Lion Colony at rest before taking a side road off towards the beach which required the opportunity to engage low range 4wd for the first time since picking up Bess. This made for a little bit of fun and excitement for both Dad and the girls.

From Point Labatt we headed further south the Venus Bay where we lunched on the beach before getting back on the road towards Port Lincoln. There was very little at Venus Bay that was appealing - had hoped the beach would be suitable for swimming etc. however it was more a fishing spot only.
We arrived in Port Lincoln late in the afternoon which commenced the search for accommodation all over again. You have never seen two more excited children than ours when the Port Lincoln Hotel - waterfront 5 star hotel - had a room available to cater for the family. We offered the Big 4 up once again - but they just wouldn't be in it.
Port Lincoln Hotel

I absolutely loved Port Lincoln!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was like a five star hotel and the food there was delicious!
This place would of been one of my favourite places that we stayed at!
WOW!! This hotel was amazing! A great Ocean View from our window and also a great view to Bess on the street. This was a big step up from the accommodation in Caiguna!
